How much does it cost to hire the hall?


Messingham Village hall set the charges for the hall at their AGM every year. A list of all the charges can be sent on request.


What size is the Hall?


The main hall is 16m (52ft) long x 10m (32ft) wide excluding the stage
The trinity suite is 9.5m (31ft) wide and 5.5m (18ft) wide


What facilities does the hall have?


The hall is fully accessible to disabled with ramped access. There are ladies, mens and disabled toilets with baby change also available. There are large foldaway tables and chairs available for all hirers. These must be set up by the hirer and placed back in the store room at the end of the session.

 

What facilities does the kitchen have?


The kitchen has a large double gas oven, sinks for cleaning and hand washing, kettles, cutlery, crockery (available on request) microwave and power for other appliances.


Can bouncy castles or inflatable toys be used in the hall?


Bouncy castles and other inflatables toys suitable for indoor use can be used at the village hall. Hirers must check the bouncy castle hirers have the correct insurance policies in place. Messingham Village Hall accepts no liability for bouncy castles or inflatables used in the hall.


What is the capacity of the hall?


The maximum number of persons attending functions is controlled by the Licensing Authority from recommendations by the Fire service Prevention Authority. The Hall is licensed for the maximum number of persons as follows:-

Closely seated audiences (Concerts etc) 220

Socials, Dances, Discos 170

Dinners, Weddings (set out tables/chairs) 120


Do I have to clean after use?


It is the responsibility of the hirer to clean the hall and ensure it is left in the condition that it was found. If you require cleaning after hire, please contact the booking officer to see if this can be arranged. This is only available for weddings or large functions and there will be a cost incurred.


Is there somewhere for me to dispose of rubbish?


Rubbish can be disposed of at the hall. There are large bins to the front of the hall. All rubbish must be taken out at the end of the hire and the facilities left in the condition to which they were found.


How do I pay for my booking?


Ideally, Messingham Village Hall would like you to pay for your booking either by bank transfer or by cheque. On occasion, it can be arranged for payment to be made in cash but this is in exceptional circumstances. Payments need to be made 14 days prior to the hall being hired. Payment can however be made sooner. Cost of hire will be included in a booking confirmation form that will be e-mailed out once an enquiry has been made.
